The PBS show “The Rundown” recently featured a segment about neglected tropical diseases.  Two guests from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention explained how NTDs are transmitted as well as the symptoms and long-term health and economic consequences for those who are infected with the diseases.

The experts also gave their perspectives on why these diseases have escaped public attention and concern and caused them to be “neglected.”
